Accessibility
The standard
This site is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, the standard most schools and public agencies use. In plain terms: it should work with a keyboard, a screen reader, zoom and high contrast without anyone having to ask.
The choices
- Full text on the page. Papers, lesson plans and presentations are written out on the page, not embedded as document viewers that trap keyboard focus and hide from search.
- Downloads, not viewers. Each artifact has a PDF to download, and the link says its format and size before you click.
- Real alt text. Every image is described for what it means. Decorative images are skipped by screen readers.
- Nothing moves on its own. No autoplay, no parallax, and the site honours your device’s reduced-motion setting.
- Contrast checked, not guessed. Text meets at least 4.5:1 against its background.
The limits
Some PDFs come from tools that can’t export accessible files. Where a download is one of those, it says so, and the page above it is the accessible version.
